"Prayer"

We give thanks for typists, secretaries and personal assistants,
for work that keeps many offices from chaos.
We confess that the days of
"dictation on the boss's knee"
are not yet over.
And we ask for strength
for all such workers who strive to be professional
in a world where women
are still sometimes expected to be girls.
