Prayer from the Occupational Cycle;-

"Prayer"

We pray for people who bear the burdens
Of responsibility,
having power over other people's lives.
God give them wisdom,
And the strength to do what they need to do.
We pray for people who face the temptations
Of having power and influence.
Help them be honest and merciful.
And, for all their high positions,
They are human like us:
Let them know they are not alone,
In the long night-time of decision.
And by your grace,
Let them be loved and loving.
