So what would a prospective voluntary chaplain actually do?

First, he or she would meet a member of the staff and they would explore together whether this is the right thing to do.
There is a brief training course, for those who have no previous experience of this type of work.
He or she would become a member of the team.
The chaplain would be expected to visit the workplace at least once a fortnight.
The chaplain would take part in ongoing training and support networks.
The chaplain would make the links between faith and working life.
The chaplain would make a link back into church about what he or she discovers in the workplace.
A chaplain would be someone who is called to the pastoral care of people at their work.
A chaplain can be lay or ordained.
